Megan Kahts

This singer from Pretoria, has been receiving professional singing coaching for 8 years and is currently a student of the Sandton based ex-opera singer Eugenie Chopin.

Megan holds a recording contract with Select Music. Her first album, called "My Mother's Arms" saw the light in September 200. Her second album, “Tonight” was released in October 2004. It consists of a delightful variety of classical and light popular songs. Both these albums are available at most music stores.

She appears on numerous national TV programmes and promotional corporate events.
Megan's main focus is on classical and light classical music, but in the South African music context she has to supplement her repertoire of songs with some popular evergreen songs and songs from musicals.

She has performed with the KZN Philharmonic Orchestra, the Gateway Philharmonic and the Johannesburg Festival Orchestra on occasions in KwaZulu Natal and Gauteng.
Megan is a matric pupil at Pretoria Girls High School. She also does well academically and she achieved her previous school’s "top of the grade" academic badge in 2002. She was also the DUX student in grade 7. Her aim is to study music after school, which is why she takes music as a subject at school. She has also achieved distinctions in both piano and singing exams of the Royal Schools of Music in 2002, 2003, 2004 and in the UNISA exams in 2005.
She performs all over South Africa and in June 2005 she sang in Salzburg, Austria for an international corporate function.

Megan loves opera and classical music, but she also listens to the everyday pop music like any other teenager. She has composed her own songs, 4 of which appear on her latest album, “Tonight”.
